Joanne and I went down to the boat Monday after work for a picnic supper and a little fishing off the dock.
We hadn't been there very long when Joanne caught her first ever Northern Pike!

May 13 2009- Lake Trout Fishing with Casey
It was a clear, calm morning. Perfect conditions for trolling for Lake Trout.
First time out this year with Casey.
On the first pass, Casey hooked into this lovely 2 1/2 lb Laker. This fish ended up being supper for Joanne and I..JPG)
On the second pass, I managed to hook into this 4 lb 4 oz Lake Trout. This fish went home with Casey for his dinner.

May 12 2009-Fishing From the Dock
It was a beautiful sunny day, so Joanne and I decided that it was a good day to buy flowers for the boat and get them planted. Joanne supplied a couple of new ceramic planters.
While we were down at the boat, Joanne wanted a few tips on casting and reeling.
During our lessons, along came a Pike to check and see if we were doing it right!
I guess we were doing something right. This almost monster Northern Pike measured 32 inches and weighed 8lb 3 oz. Joanne wasn't crazy about holding the fish up for photo shot. Something to do with all those big nasty teeth. She must be waiting for a bigger fish!
This fish provided us with some excitement and entertainment. Time to say goodbye and hopefully catch it another day.

April 25 2009-Meeting Campbell
I took the weekend off from work to travel to Ottawa with Joanne to meet the next generation of " fishermen ". We decided to drive through Algonguin Park to see if there was any wildlife around. Sure enough, a young bull along the side of the road supplied us with some very nice photos.
Once in Ottawa it was down to business to meeting the " Little Man "

Feb 25 2009-Back to Bluege Lagoon
Today looked like a good day to go back to Bluege Lagoon and try our luck again at catching some Rainbow Trout! Once again Udo has to do all the work while I stand around and take pictures. Not only did he have to auger all the holes-----
--- he also had to build a fire on the ice to keep us warm.He had to split the wood, carry it all down to the ice, start the fire and keep it going. He did a great job!
But alas, the Trout were not biting. However, we did manage to get some pictures of a new and yet unusual species of Largemouth Bass.

Jan 1 2009-Almost Forgot!
Before I forget! Jan 1 2009 was the opening day for fishing for Trout. I decided to get together with Udo and do some opening day fishing on Bluege Lagoon. For some reason Udo likes to drill all the holes in the ice while I stand around and take pictures.
Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with my part of the deal.We caught no fish and I took very few pictures. However, there is always next time!

Feb 17 2009-Finally,A Lake Trout
We went to a secret spot on Lake Rosseau to fish for a few Lake Trout. My friend Gavin supplied all the equipment including a plastic sleigh which tipped up on its end, with a tarp stretched out allowed for a spot to get out of the wind and warm up those cold fingers. He had a little propane stove in there to warm up with as well as make a cup of coffee or soup.Perfect!
Gavin caught the first fish of the day. This little trout was about 13" long and was released. He caught it jigging.
Shortly after that I caught this little 14" Laker. First one this year. It was also caught jigging..JPG)
The next fish I caught was a 17" Laker. This one was caught on a set minnow line. This fish decided to come home with me and join me for dinner. In the background ( I know it's hard to tell ) the man standing talking to the man sitting down is a Conservation Officer. This is the first one that I have seen in years. He watched me catch 2 Lakers and then had the nerve to ask me for my fishing licence.

Jan 4 2009- A new fisherman is born
Good Morning Everyone.
Meet Campbell Jason Kinsley.
Here is Mel and Jason with their 7 lb 7 oz baby boy. He weighs more than a lot of fish I have caught. Campbell was born at home on Jan 4 2009 at 7:30 am. Both mother and son are well. We're not so sure about Jason. Apparently he found giving birth to be very stressful and nerve wracking. Speedy recovery Jason.
The next generation of fishermen has been born and I can hardly wait to take him out on the Walkabout to catch that big one.
Congrats to the both of you!
