The sky is blue. The winds are light. The conditions are perfect for fishing. Five and a half hours later this is all I have to show. A lot of work for one little Bass.

June 24 2008-Rick's First Pike of the Season
Rick finally catches his first Pike of the season! This Pike was 23 inches long and weighed in at 2 lb 4 oz. My only Pike of the day was 27 inches long and weighed 4 lb 8 oz.
What's this? Yes, Rick catches a second one. This little fella was 22 inches long and just tipped the scales at 2 lb. Both of Rick's fish were caught on Rapalas while trolling.
I had a lot of trouble getting fish into the boat. I lost 4 Smallmouth Bass and 1 Pike including a couple of lures.

June 23 2008-New Guy On the Walkabout
Meet Jim. The new guy on the Walkabout. Jim's first trip out fishing with me resulted in the catch and release of 3 monster Perch. And a 26 1/2 Pike. This one weighed in at 4 lb. Also released.
My one and only fish of the evening was a beautiful Smallmouth Bass weighing in at 3lb 8oz. This one was released as well. All in all, a fun 2 hours of fishing.

June 7 2008-Day 6 of my Holidays
I decided to go down the " Walkabout " this morning and do some serious housework. The boat is very dirty and in need of some TLC. A bobber and a minnow off the side of the dock and see what happens.
Along comes my sister Kathy and my no good brother-in-law Andy with their brand new Legend boat. WOW! What a nice package. This boat has everything you need to make fishing a very enjoyable outing. Tons of storage, live well, rod holders, trolling motor, 25 hp 4 stroke Mercury motor, and the list goes on and on.
Next thing you know, they will be catching tons of fish and have their own Blog!
P.S. I didn't catch any fish, but the " Walkabout " is starting to look a lot cleaner!

June 6 2008-Day 5 of my Holidays
Day 5 of my holidays was spent fishing with Rick. The weather was Hot,Hot, Hot! The temperature reached a high of 34 C. The lake was as smooth as glass & the fish were hard to find. First fish of the day was a Smallmouth Bass about 14 inches long. Fish # 2 was another Smallmouth Bass. This one measured 16 inches.
The last fish of the morning was a little 20 inch Pike. That was enough of the heat so we headed home to hopefully find some cooler temperatures.

June 4 2008-Day 3 of my Holidays
Brad's first day back to Muskoka since last year.
He started the morning off with small Pike. Followed by another small Pike.
Followed by a big Smallmouth Bass. This beautiful Smallie measured 18 3/4 inches and weighed in at just under 4 lb. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyways. All Bass are out of season & must be released.
Followed by a 6 lb Pike. I also caught a much smaller Pike; but it was camera shy.

June 3 2008-Day 2 of My Holidays
Day 2 of my holidays & only 1 fish today. This little smallie measured 14 1/2 inches. Rick decided to get in the pic with my monster Bass.
The flowers are here & ready to be planted.
P.S. It rained all morning & you know my theory on fishing in the rain. The fish don't bite because they don't like to get wet!

June 2 2008-Day 1 of my Holidays
I went fishing with Casey today on Lake of Bays for some Lake Trout. Here is Casey zooming us along to his favorite secret spot! First fish of the day was a small 17 1/2 inch Trout.
Here is Casey with a Trout just a little bit larger than the first one. This one was 19 1/2 inches.

And here I am with a beautiful 22 1/2 inch Laker.
Here I am again with the same fish. In this picture I took off the hat in case you didn't recognize me in the last pic. All fish were caught using the "hammer" lure. These fish were caught in about 12-18 feet of water. As the water warms up the Trout go deeper and are harder to find. We were back to the dock in less than 2 1/2 hours.
