Nov 15 2011-Hardy Lake Trails

We went to check out the Hardy Lake Trails today. Yes, there is a map this time! The sky was blue, the temperature was cool, and there was a fair breeze.

A view of the north end of the lake.

Beaver pond # 1

Beaver pond # 2. A great 3 km walk and we did not get lost!

Nov 9 2011-Porcupine Ridge-Lost!

We went to Porcupine Ridge for a late afternoon walk. A very challenging walk. Up and down steep trails and it started to rain.

It continued to rain, and started to get dark. It was at this time we realized we were sorta lost. Joanne was a little worried about finding our way back out before total darkness set in. Quote of the day- " I don't like you very much right now "

We came across this nice deer who said "Follow me, I'll show you the way out"

We were a little wet, but we made it. Next time ( if I can talk Joanne into it ) we will take a map!

Nov 8 2011-Insulating Udo's Attic

Today, Udo is insulating his attic, and my job is to load the hopper while he climbs around in a tiny space. First, we must move all the bags of insulation ----- ---down to here. I'm ready.

Here comes the human condom!

Before,

And after. It only took a couple of hours and the job was done. Glad I could help!

Nov 2 2011-High Falls Trail

The High Falls Trail is a very short and scenic trail. This is the first set of falls. Another view of the first falls.

This is the second set of falls entering the Muskoka River.

This is High Falls. Not a lot of water coming over the falls at this time.

Another view of High Falls. We would really like to come back in the spring and see the difference. Like I said, a very sort and scenic trail. Highly recommended!

Oct 21 2011-It's Still my Birthday!

It's still my birthday! After opening up my gifts, Joanne told me that we were going to the new Chinese Buffet Restaurant for supper. We met some friends of ours and invited them to join us.

After finding out it was my birthday, our waiter brought me a surprise dessert.

Because it was my birthday, our friends insisted on paying the tab. Very nice of them to do this!

Heading out the door with a full belly. Nice dinner and a nice surprise!

Oct 11 2011-A Drive Around Muskoka

After leaving the boat at Udo's, we decided to take a drive around Muskoka. It was a beautiful warm day. We stopped at Halfway Lake and made a few casts. Then we stopped at Moot Lake to try our luck.

We drove around Ril Lake, Echo Lake, Dickie Lake, Wildcat Lake and ended up in Baysville.

From there we drove to Dorset to see Robinsons General store.

On the way home we enjoyed a great sunset. Nice relaxing way to enjoy Muskoka!
