July 23 2008 - 4 Huge Smallmouth Bass

Today I went out fishing with Andy from work and we had an absolutely incredible day. Very first cast and the very first fish was a huge 20 inch Smallmouth Bass weighing 4 lb 6 oz. Shortly after that Andy caught an 18 inch Smallie. This fish weighed 3 lb 4 oz.
And if that wasn't enough, a couple of casts later Andy hooked into this 19 1/2 inch biggie. This puppy weighed 4 lb 1oz. Wow! What a morning!
If that wasn't enough, Andy caught this Smallmouth on the last cast of the day. This one was 19 inches long and weighed 4 lb 0 oz. That made four big Smallmouth in one day. We also caught several smaller Bass, a few Pike, and a Perch, and a Rock Bass.
Did I mention that I caught a big one too?

July 22 2008-Rick & His Grandsons

Today I took Rick & his two Grandsons out for a fishing adventure. This is Christopher holding up a small 20" Pike.
Here is Michael holding up the same fish. He's just not sure how close he wants to get to those teeth.
And here is the crew holding up a 23 " Pike. The boys were able to hook into a few fish but were unable to land any of their own. However, they had a great time and would like to do it again.

July 16 2008-Princess of the Lake

This is my Granddaughter Tegan. She is my little Princess of the Lake. And here is Tegan & Karin holding up her very first Perch! In the beginning, she did not want to touch it, but finally she gave in and live released it all by herself!
And here is Tegan & Karin holding up her very first Smallmouth Bass. Once again Tegan wasn't real keen on touching the fish so she allowed " Hop Hop " to do the touching.
And here is Tegan & Poppa holding up her very first Pickerel. She willing to touch this fish until she saw the big teeth. Even " Hop Hop " didn't want to get too near those nasty looking teeth.
Then disaster happened! " Hop Hop " fell overboard and a rescue mission had to be launched.Luckily, we able to net the rabbit overboard & although " Hop Hop " was soaking wet, we had a happy reunion. At that point we decided to head for shore before " Hop Hop " caught a cold.
My little Princess of the Lake had a great time & so did her Poppa!

June 8 2008-Two Nice Pike

Rick and I went out this morning with the intensions of catching some big Bass. Didn't happen.
Rick started the morning off catching ( and releasing ) a Clam. Not just any Clam; but the first one of the season! He then proceeded in catching one heck of a small Pike. How small you ask?Rick was too embarassed to have his photo taken. Shortly after that I managed to hook into this 29 inch Pike.
Then Rick caught this 28 inch Pike and thought he would have his picture taken with this one. Two nice Pike in one morning makes for a fun day!
