Oct 15 2013-Sad Day!

Once again it's that time of the year when we must put the Walkabout to bed for the winter. The boat is ready to go. Just waiting for Udo!
The boat is on the trailer and ready to go to it's winter home!
 The Walkabouts winter home.
Joanne is building the frame while I take the photos!
All tucked in and ready for bed. It is always a sad day. Already can't wait for next year! Once again, thank you so much Udo for all your help!

Oct 8 2013-Last Day Of Fishing!

This is the last day of fishing before putting the boat away for the winter. Next year we will be at a new location. Allport is building new slips for next year. We will be in the slip closet to shore on the right hand side.
On the way out of Allport Bay, Udo and I came across this Blue Heron looking for a meal.
Beautifull Fall colours and calm waters.
 Pike on board.
Last day of fishing and the last fish of the season! See you on the ice in 2014!

Oct 3 2013-October Already?

It's hard to believe that it's October already! This young Loon is almost as big as the adult!
The colours of Fall are all around us!
First fish of the day was pretty badly hooked, so this is dinner!
 Future monster Bass!
Joanne catches her biggest Bass of the year. A nice 3 1/2 pounder. Way to go Joanne!

Sept 25 2013-Daryl and Lian-Day 3

Last day with Daryl and Lian before they head back to Edmonton. Hardy Lake Trails is on our agenda today.
And a beautiful day for a 7 km hike it is!
One of my favorite pics of the day. Don't get too close to the edge Lian.
We stopped at the bridge for a picnic lunch.
After a long and very enjoyable hike we ended our visit with Daryl and Lian at Waboras for dinner. See you guys in January!

Sept 24 2013-Daryl and Lian-Day 2

Today was a perfect day to spend the day with Daryl and Lian on the boat. Here is a Merganzer showing off!
Then we went to show Daryl and Lian the Beast of Baxter Island.
Then a little fishing before heading to the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst. Joanne caught the only fish of the day. It was the biggest Perch I have ever seen come out of Lake Muskoka!
We finally made it to Gravenhurst.
Breakfast at the Sunset Grill, then we headed home. Great day!

Sept 22 2013-Daryl and Lian-Day 1

Daryl and Lian are both in Bracebridge for a few days before heading back to Edmonton and we wanted to spend as much time as possible with them. First up on the agenda: a round of mini-putt!
After a brief sprinkle, we were treated to a beautiful Rainbow.
Daryl and Lian hanging out waiting for their turn.
 Great shot Joanne!
After an exciting game ( I don't know who won ) we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner!

Sept 18 2013-Hot Tub!

A friend of ours bought a new house and the first thing he did was to take out the Hot Tub. He said free to a good home!
Our home is a good place for it!
Now the fun begins. Where to put it?
This looks like a good spot.
Now the fun begins. Move all the bedroom stuff upstairs and reconstruct the rec room.

Sept 17 2013-Beautiful Morning.

 What a beautiful morning!
The lake was calm, and the temperature was perfect for a day of fishing with Udo.
 Udo caught the first fish!
 And the second fish!
I caught nothing. But I did get a bite! You can see the teeth marks on my minnow before the Pike let go! All in all, still a great day!

Sept 3 2013-A Few More Smallies!

Went fishing with Udo this morning. It was cool, breezy, and overcast. At least we were able to catch a few more Smallies!
 And another one.
 Udo catches one.
 And another one!
And Udo finishes the morning off with another nice Smallie. And another great day with Udo!

Aug 28 2013-Fish Are Biting

A warm, calm, and beautiful day and the fish are biting. First fish, a nice plump 2 1/4 lb Smallie!
Another nice 2 1/2 lb Smallie!
And another Bass. This fish topped the scales at 4 1/4 lb. Right after catching this big fellow, we lost one that was a little bigger.
Even the little guys were biting!
Last fish of the morning. Great day and a lot of fun!
