April 17 2010-Getting the Walkabout Ready

It's that time of the year again. Getting the Walkabout ready for another season of "FISHING". Step 1: Remove the protective winter cover from the boat. Step 2: Put up the top and the side curtains.

Step 3: Get Joanne to clean the inside of the boat.

Step 4: Re-apply a new patch over the hole in the pontoon. The first patch has held since 2000.
Step 5: Clean up the outside of the boat and we are ready to launch. Hopefully, the Walkabout will be in the water by the first week in May. See you then!

April 6 2010-New Construction-Part 1

Last summer (2009) Allport Marina was sold to new owners. This winter the new owners began a major overhaul. Two new covered boat slips (F) and (B) began construction on the ice. Our dock (E) was being extended to included 6 new slips. As a result we are moving from our old boat slip ( E33 ) out to our new boat slip ( E39 ). These pictures were taken on Feb 9 2010. This is our new Home. E39.

Here is another view of the new slips at E Dock.
