July 27 2011-Wilson's Falls Trail

Today we decided to go to Wilson's Falls and check out the trail. What a beautiful trail! Even though the water level was down, the falls were still very impressive.

Great spot for a picnic lunch.

More great scenery!

Thank you Barry and Ang for the tip. It was a fantastic walking trail!

July 26 2011-Annual Fishing Trip With Tegan

Once again it's that time of the year for our annual fishing trip with Tegan. This year she gets to use a real fishing rod and lures just like Poppa! First things first! A swim with Mom and a couple of Mallard Ducks.

Then a picnic on the boat.

Then some fishing. Once again Tegan caught the biggest seaweed. We also caught a nice 18" Smallmouth Bass and Tegan helped to hold it up for a picture.

Finally, a quick nap on the way back to the Marina!

July 25 2011-Golf Anyone?

Daryl and Lian are in from Edmonton for a wedding and a couple of weeks holidays. First thing on the agenda, Golf!
It rained most of the game and we got pretty damp.
I seldom even fish in the rain, why golf in the rain?
 Here it goes? Somewhere?

All in all, I guess it was fun!

July 24 2011-More Small Fish!

Another beautiful day to be out on the water! Here's a cute little bass. And another small bass!

And once again, another small bass! Sooner or later one of us will catch a big one. It's just a question of being in the right place at the right time.

July 22 2011-All Day Boat Trip-Part 3

We travelled from Lake Rosseau, under the Port Sandfield bridge, into Lake Joe. I just happened to have my trolling rod with us just in case the Lake Trout were biting. They weren't; but I did catch a plump little Smallmouth Bass. Time to head home. Back into Lake Muskoka with enough time to do a little more fishing before dark. Nice Perch Joanne!

Got another one on!

We caught a few more small Bass and a couple of small Pike.

Back to the dock and we watched the sun go down. We were out on the lakes for 12 1/2 hours. Great way to spend a day!

July 22 2011-All Day Boat Trip-Part 2

We made it as far as Port Carling, then had to stop for a pee break and----- an ice cream cone at Mooskokas!!!!

It was very warm out and the oversized ice cream cone was melting quickly. I don't think Joanne missed a drop.

Through the locks.

and into Lake Rosseau!

July 22 2011-All Day Boat Trip-Part 1

Today, Joanne and I decided to make an all day boat trip from Allport Marina to Port Carling, through the locks, into Lake Rosseau. From there, into Lake Joe, do a little Trout fishing, and head back home.Along the way, we took pictures of various boat houses. Remember, these are just the boat houses, not the actual cottages.

There are a lot of people with a lot of money!

I think that we could be happy with living in just the boat houses.

I guess we can all dream a little!
