June 11 2009-On Holidays

Joanne and I are on holidays. We started on June 8 and they end on the 15th. This is the first time we've had this much time off to spend with each other. So lets go fishing! The first two Smallmouth Bass were caught in Allport Bay and were around 14 inches each. Joanne caught a Smallie 14 1/4 long.
Then we caught a Pike. The little puppy was 26 inches long and weighed around 4 lb.

And another Pike. This one was a little smaller. 22 inches long. About 2 1/4 lb.

And a nice Smallmouth Bass. This one was 16 inches long and tipped the scales at 2 lb 4 oz. Great day! We caught and released 5 Bass and 2 Pike.

June 10 2009--Leaving The Dock

Time to leave the dock and see if there are any fish in the lake. I guess there are a few. We started the day off with a nice Pike. It was 26 inches long and weighed around 4 lb. And then we caught another out of season Smallmouth Bass. This fish was 15 inches long and

Weighed about 1 3/4 lb.

And then we caught another Smallmouth Bass. This one was 16 inches long and tipped the scales at 2lb 8 oz.

The flowers on the Walkabout are starting to look great! All fish were live released!

May 26 2009-Brad and Collin

May 26 and a beautiful morning. Joining me today on the Walkabout is Joanne, Brad, and young Collin. Nice flowers and no lace curtains.
Away we go! We fished and fished and for some reason the fish refused to cooperate. Joanne looks soooo good taking a break.

Wave at the camera.

It wasn't a total skunk. Brad did catch the nicest log of the day.

May 22 2009-Another Dock Fish

Another trip down to the boat after work for a little fishing off the the dock. It seems that everytime I want to take a picture of Joanne, she's eating "Cheetos". Must just be a coincidence. Once again, we weren't there very long when along comes Mr. Pike to join us for some "Cheetos"

This little fella was about 27 inches long.

Only got the one fish, so back to the house to do a little work in the garden.
With Joanne's help, the garden is beginning to look awesome.

May 21 2009-Joanne's 2nd Pike

Once again we made a trip down to the boat after work for a little Pike fishing off the dock. One of the first things we noticed was this female Mallard Duck resting on the gas dock.
We grabbed the camera and walked over and took a few pictures of this different coloured duck. I have never seen a blonde Mallard before. I wonder if blonde ducks have more fun?

Back to the dock for some serious fishing. We hadn't been back very long when Joanne hooked into this monster Pike!
This killer fish was 23 inches long.

Nice licence plate!

May 20 2009-Beautiful Day

It was a beautiful day! The sun was shining, (for a change) and the temperature was warm, so we packed a lunch and headed out into the wild blue yonder.Although it was sunny and warm, it was also quite breezy, so we decided to troll out on the main lake. We hadn't gone very far ( the big flats ) when along came this Pike to join us on our cruise.Joanne is becoming an expert at hold up fish. This pike measured 26 inches and weighed about 3 lb. After a photo or two, the fish was released to fight another day!
We travelled about for almost 7 hours, before stopping to fish in a few calm bays. We were unable to hook into any more fish but it was a great way to spend a day off.
