May 24 2011-Abba Tribute Band

 We went to see another tribute band. This band was called Arrival and they played all the great Abba hits.



They were very good and it looked like they were enjoying themselves.

At the end they had a few young girls up on stage to help sing Dancing Queen. They even knew the all the words.

May 19 2011-A Different View

For over a year now, we have been watching the condo in our backyard getting higher and higher. I decided it was time for a different view. I am going up to the top floor of the condo to take a few pics! Here I am. I'm the one in the green shirt with the blue hardhat.

May 11 2011-Trolling For Lake Trout

First day out fishing on the Walkabout. Since Pike fishing does not open for another 10 days we are trolling for Lake Trout. First, a picture of some of the local bird life. Joanne looks ready. I'm not sure if she's out for the fish or a sun burn.

A Pike! This Pike was caught by Joanne. This is her biggest Pike ever! It was 29" and weighed around 6 lb. Joanne likes to catch fish, but still not crazy about holding them up for a picture.

I caught this Pike. It was 28" and weighed about 5 1/2 lb. Still no Lake Trout on Lake Muskoka. Both fish were live released.

P.S. None of these Pike were caught off the dock!

May 10 2011-Walkabout Is In The Water!

It's that happy time of the year again. With the help of Udo, the Walkabout is going into the water today! We're all loaded up and ready to go! Final check around the boat and we're ready to launch!

Up,up and away!

Ready for another season of fishing. Tomorrow Joanne and I are going to troll for those elusive Lake Trout.

April 13 2011-What's In The Attic?

We got in from Edmonton last night around 7:00 pm. Josh was happy to see us, the plants were fine. Everything was fine except for a noise in the attic. So, I climbed up into the attic and guess who had made a new home. Mrs. Rocky Raccoon! Udo lent us a live trap and we got her.

Back into the attic and we found 4 babies. They were only about 5 days old. Their eyes were still closed.

Sooo Cute!

Mother and babies were reunited and released into the wild many,many miles away!

April 11 2011-Homeward Bound

April 11 2011-Critters from Alberta

One of the most common critters we saw in Edmonton, were the scavenger birds called Magpies. This is the only place we have seen such a bird. We also met up with a Grizzly Bear who tried to eat me. However, after explaining to the bear that I was not good to eat, we became good friends.

The most common critters we saw in Canmore were Bunnies. They were everywhere enjoying the warm sun and whatever new grass they could find.

We also saw several Elk along the highways.

My favourite critter was the Big Horn Mountain Sheep. These guys came down out of the mountains to enjoy the salt along the highways.

April 10 2011-Banff,Alberta

After leaving Canmore, we headed up to Banff to check out the main street. Pretty much all tourist shops and restaurants. Joanne meets Bullwinkle.
