Rick and I went to Lake Joe today to see if the Lake trout were still in the mood the bite. Yes, they were! But first, here is Rick holding up his very first fish caught while fishing with me. It wasn't big but it was beautiful! Rick nets and holds up my first Lake trout of the day. A lovely 3 lb fish for dinner.
Although Rick did a good job netting this one, he missed 2 other trout about the same size.

I went fishing today with Udo on Lake Muskoka in his boat. Here is an action shot of him getting ready to catch the big one! Here he is with a 3.4 lb Smallmouth Bass.
And here he is with a 2.0 lb Smallmouth Bass.
This is me holding up the same 3.4 lb Bass.
Haven't caught a Pike lately. Oops, just did. 3.2 lb.

Another day of fishing alone. I haven't had too many of those this year. Today the fish were biting pretty good. I landed 5 Smallmouth Bass and lost another 3. The last one I lost was right in front of the boat. I got a good look at it as it jumped out of the water and spit the hook.Maybe around 3 lb.
This Bass weighed 1.4 lb. This fella was a little larger. It weighed 1.5 lb.Here's another nice Bass. Weighed in at 2.8 lb.

And finally this Bass tipped the scales at 2.7 lb.

Today was one of those days that I felt like a little quiet time. So I took Maggie with me. Unfortunately she didn't catch anything. However I managed to catch a couple of really nice Smallmouth Bass. This one weighed 2.5 lb. This one weighed 2.4 lb. Almost close enough to be called twins.

Leslie and I went down to Sparrow Lake to do a little fishing with Peter.Peter and I started the morning off with a double header of a couple of small Smallmouth Bass. Leslie catches a small one too!Peter catches a small Largemouth Bass.End of the day.Oops, battery is dead and we get a tow home.

The weather was still cool & the fishing was still a little slow. However, Cheryl caught her first Smallmouth bass of the season. As you can see the bass were all fairly small; but at least we able to find a few. Hopefully it will warm up and the bigger Bass will get a little more aggressive.

Went into Leslie's Fathers hunt camp to try our luck at Largemouth Bass fishing & a little relaxation. The fishing was slow due to a cold front that decided to move in. However we did manage to catch a few.

I went out fishing with Rick again to see if we could still catch Lake Trout in August. Not only could we catch Lake trout; we also got 3 Smallmouth Bass including this 3 3/4 lb. We got a total of 6 Lake Trout weighing between 1 1/2 lb up to 3 lb.

Once again Brad & I are out to catch that big one!
Fish # 1 was caught right off the dock.
It was 1.6 lb. This fella was 2.6 lb.Here's Brad's big one of the day!
This one tipped the scales at 3.6 lb.My big fish of the day was a 4.2 Pike.And here is a pretty strange lawn cow!

Wind at Allport-Aug 2 2006

There are no fish in these pictures; but this is the Marina were my boat is moored for the season.On the evening of Aug 2 2006 we had a series of thunder storms come through the area with wind gusts up to 120 kilometers per hour. Here is the damage done. It tried to detach the outer part of the covered boat slips. Wow, it's amazing what the wind can do.!

Back to Lake Muskoka & fishing with Brad. Here we are with a small Pike. Measured 20" & weighed 2 lb. Here is a nice 17 1/2 " Smallmouth Bass.
This Smallie weighed 2.4 lb.
Another nice 18" Smallmouth.This fella weighed 2.8 lb.
