My first Pike of the day was not quite a monster. It was only 20 inches long & barely made the 1 1/2 lb mark. This little critter was caught on a # 5 red Mepps at the mouth of the Muskoka River.
Wow! My second fish was a huge 3 1/4 lb Smallmouth Bass. This was also caught on a #5 red Mepps. Caught this one on the big flats. Please note that Smallmouth Bass are out of season so it had to be released.
Holy Cow! Another big Smallie! Caught on the same #5 red Mepps. This puppy weighed 2 3/4 lb. Found this one swimming on the Udo Flats.
My last fish of the day was a 27 inch, 4Lb Pike. Same lure. Picked this one up on the small flats. Also lost another big Smallie & a couple of smaller Pike. Rick had on a nice Smallmouth Bass but the handle on his reel broke off & he lost the fish in the process of trying to bring the fish in by hand.
