Feb 17 2009-Finally,A Lake Trout

We went to a secret spot on Lake Rosseau to fish for a few Lake Trout. My friend Gavin supplied all the equipment including a plastic sleigh which tipped up on its end, with a tarp stretched out allowed for a spot to get out of the wind and warm up those cold fingers. He had a little propane stove in there to warm up with as well as make a cup of coffee or soup.Perfect! Gavin caught the first fish of the day. This little trout was about 13" long and was released. He caught it jigging.
Shortly after that I caught this little 14" Laker. First one this year. It was also caught jigging.
The next fish I caught was a 17" Laker. This one was caught on a set minnow line. This fish decided to come home with me and join me for dinner. In the background ( I know it's hard to tell ) the man standing talking to the man sitting down is a Conservation Officer. This is the first one that I have seen in years. He watched me catch 2 Lakers and then had the nerve to ask me for my fishing licence.

This 18" Laker was caught within minutes of the last one and it was time to pack up and head home. I took this fish home as well to give to Rick and Sandra for their dinner. Great day! Hopefully I'll get out again.
